This one-of-a-kind blouson is by Kaoru Tagata, a designer who elevates the tradition of vintage kimonos into modern styles.
It lavishly uses rare vintage Oshima Tsumugi from the renowned production area.
The traditional tatewaku (rising steam) pattern, emerging from deep indigo, exudes a quiet yet overwhelming presence.
Gold braiding is placed on the raglan seams, and the zippers are top-of-the-line YKK "Excella" with original MATOI logo pulls.
The carefully tailored, lined construction ensures a smooth feel and sophisticated silhouette.
This piece transforms a timeless material into a garment that can be enjoyed by all genders.
Staff wearing (height 187cm)
The bust (width) fit comfortably with room. The sleeve length felt about 3cm short, but there was no significant discomfort in the silhouette or feel.
