One-of-a-kind upcycled pants by designer Mayu Imachi, who elevates the beauty of vintage kimonos into modern designs.
Luxuriously crafted from carefully selected furisode kimonos, elegant Noshi patterns and seasonal floral eba patterns are beautifully re-constructed along the leg line. A stately Hon-Saga Nishiki fukuro obi is used for the waist, creating a dignified look.
A notable feature is the deliberately exposed back of the obi. The overlapping weft threads, a testament to the pinnacle of Japanese weaving techniques, speak to the depth and rich expression of a true craft.
This is a special garment brimming with dignity, where traditional designs and artisanal skill breathe life.
Worn by a MATOI staff member (160cm tall)
Normally wears S-M size at ZARA, and M size at Uniqlo.
The smooth and silky feel is characteristic of high-quality silk.
The subtle coolness felt upon touch creates a sophisticated impression.
The silhouette was relatively fitted, conforming to the body's lines, while the natural luster and drape unique to silk stood out beautifully.
When worn, the hem was about 4cm above the floor.
Pairing with heels or voluminous shoes creates a more refined balance.
